[fruityloops] beatslicer channel - brain dead?

I can't seem to find any way to get a loop to slice up into something
useful. I send a loop to a beat slicer channel, and inevitably, it slices it
into something wierd like 3 bars at 97 bpm. Completely useless to me. I'd
love to use some of these cool drum loops I have, but so far, I can't.
So am I brain dead?
Is beatslicer brain dead?
Both?
