Here's a neat trick if machine-gun rolls are your bag, or even if you just
want to create a series of notes without having to enter them manually.

For any instrument (say, snare drum), go to the piano roll and insert a note
one bar long. Now hit Ctrl-U. You get a dialog which slices that note up
into individual pieces. By default, it will split your note into 16 parts,
but by fiddling with the slice dial you can change that. You can even load
FSC presets if you want to split the note into different rhythms instead of
just repeated notes.

In combination with the line-drawing tool for the velocity controller, you
can make a machine-gun fill in about 10 seconds :)
