Raising funds via percentage fees is very much to be avoided. It compromises
the Fundraisers integrity as s/he seeks to close ANY gift , sometimes
prematurely and hardly any significant donor is really happy giving $1,000
knowing that $200 goes off the top to the Fund-raiser , plus travel plus office
costs, plus, plus ...Raising funds via percentage fees is very much to be

What are your feelings If the fundraiser clearly tells those he is soliciting
what the arrangement is?

this is so wrong on so many levels. there is not a single professional
organization in the world of fundraising that allows for it. it is immoral,
unethical, and probably not-halachic.

anyone want to discuss it? oy.

Hi all,
I came across this fundraising job in case anyone is interested. I’ve never
worked on a percentage fee of the amount donated before, but 20% does sound
rather high. Maybe not.
