responding to rachel (who posted the article -

heidi, who pointed out that the researchers ONLY looked at non-profits who
spend between 21%-89% on overhead NOT including fundraising.

well.....too bad that they didn't look at non-profits who spend between 0%
- 19% INCLUDING fundraising, and then analyze accordingly. as many of you
know, i represent foundations from 4-5 countries who give money away in
israel. i can highly recommend 70-80 israeli non-profits, none of whom go
over those percentages.

why have a donor "lose" 25% of a donation to overhead when they can get the
same results (or better) with only 14% overhead? what am i missing? and
yes, i understand: if and only if it is the same or better results. i have
been doing this for 20+ years, and rarely - very rarely - need to go above
the 15% - 19% threshold. usually, it's much lower.

and hence, more precious tzedakah shekels for more non-profits to help more
people in need.
