yes, very true. It is teamwork. There are so many things that go into a
funder’s decision to fund or not fund a particular program.

Sounds like this organization doesn’t want to risk anything. They only pay if
the fundraiser delivers, so I guess they feel they have nothing to lose.

All starting orgs in Israel, start with nonprofessionals at the helm, who ALL
think they can get "fund raising" (the fact they advert for that says they're
unprofessional!! we are DEVELOPMENT professionals, remember??!) for free, and
they try.
Iffff they get responses to such ads, they're clueless that the responders are
charlatan.

Fast forward: go prove who exactly "raised" the mill from a donor - be cause
it's TONS of team work!

it's called and spelled D-E-V-E-L-O-P-M-E-N-T
Teamwork

I’ve heard that too but quite a few organizations seem to want that type of
arrangement. I don’t like it because 1. It means I don’t get paid until they
get the money (which could be a year from now) and 2. If they don’t get the
money, I don’t get paid anything even if I write the best grant in the world.

I know that the Association of Fundraising Professionals (in the US) frowns
on that type of compensation:

    Hi all,

I came across this fundraising job in case anyone is interested. I’ve never
worked on a percentage fee of the amount donated before, but 20% does sound
rather high. Maybe not.
