I strongly concur with the approach of sending out snail mail.

1. Not much other *snail mail *to compete with.
2. Email is too easy to overlook
3. *Personalize *your snail mail - the more personalized, the more your
envelope stands out, the more you add a personal note inside, etc. the
greater the change of success. A form request is just a likely to be
discarded, while a form request with a handwritten note,, e.g. "*Dear Joe,
I know that these are tough times for everyone, but anything that you can
do to help us out at this critical juncture, would really be important,
With my warmest wishes, Steve"*
4. Elliott's idea of *sending your mail with someone*, anyone, to post for
you in the USA or even from Canada, is a brilliant idea, since with limited
air transport, airmail to North America and to Europe has been very
sluggish.

If we dont renew donors now, my theory is that donors will be more
selective of charities they support.
And when musical chairs stops,
you want to make sure you have a chair.
