I agree with Chava's analysis, yet would suggest to use the FC's info as a
basic starting point to check among board members, staff, loyal funders and
supporters etc. who has some kind of personal connection to that foundation
(and most importantly - to its board members!).
I know suggesting these people concrete info ("Do you know X?" rather than
"do you know anyone who'd fund us?") is more likely to bring (sometimes
surprising!) results.
