NGO Catalyst, a project to advance and assists fundraisers, will be
offering a series of *advanced courses this fall taught by experts* in the
field. The courses give the experienced fundraiser an opportunity to add
new skills, polish areas where they already work, and achieve significant
professional development. In addition, *NGO Catalyst provides recruiting
services* to help NGOs find fundraisers, *and mentoring services *to ensure
the success of your new hires.



Note: The general course for individuals newer to the field will run in
January.



The courses are being offered in Tel Aviv this fall. A 25% discount is

· *USAID - Learning to “Crack” the USAID Code and Writing a Winning
Proposal *

*Wednesday, October 14, 3pm-6pm; Thursday, October 15, 3pm-6pm (600NIS)*

This six hour course will provide you the keys to successfully obtaining
funding from the USAID Conflict Mitigation and Reconciliation Program,
including writing a winning proposal. The course is taught by Galit
Gelbort, an expert at USAID applications with years of experience, having

· *Orientation to the Jewish Diaspora for Israeli Fundraisers *

*Wednesday October 21, 10am – 2pm (400NIS)*

A majority of funds raised by Israeli NGOs are provided by Jewish Diaspora
communities. These Jewish communities outside of Israel are built around
Jewish community institutions and philanthropy which is a central component
of Jewish life in the Diaspora. Understanding these communities, their
institutional structures, their culture of giving and priorities is
critical in order to succeed at fundraising in Israel. For Israelis this is
all quite foreign, and this class will explain it all.



· *Excel for Fundraisers *

*Tuesday November 3rd, 9am – 1pm (400NIS) *

Excel is a must for fundraisers. This course offers fundraisers and NGO
professionals with the opportunity to master Excel including formatting,
sorting, short cuts, formulas, graphs and tables that can save you hours of
labor and catapult your work to a much higher professional level.



· *Advanced Budget Management & Using Budgets as a Fundraising Tool
*

*Wednesday November 11th, 10am – 2pm (400NIS)*

This session will help you better understand financial guidelines, unit
rates and unit costs for personnel and other program expenses, how to
connect your narrative and budget, matching requirements in budgeting/
reporting, when and how to ask for budget revisions, budgeting and
reporting with partners, and most importantly how to use your budget as a
fundraising and planning tool. Taught by Roi Maor who is an expert with
eight years of experience in financial management and budgeting for many
civil society organizations of various sizes and fields, as a manager,
external consultant and board member.

· *Crowdfunding & Facebook for NGOs*

*Wednesday November 18, 10am – 2pm (400NIS) *

This course will teach you how to create and implement a successful
crowdfunding campaign including which platform to use and how to
specifically craft your content to capture readers’ attention and make them
want to donate. Additionally, this course will cover advanced social
media marketing, how with money invested you can dramatically grow your
following and make posts go viral, and then how to use this community to
raise money on-line. Taught by Rachel Canar and Yuval Klein, a PPC expert
and the Director of Minuf Digital where he runs successful internet
campaigns, and digital marketing for many Israeli NGOs.



· *Advanced Fundraising – Way Beyond Grant Writing featuring
Shlomit Yarkoni*

*Israeli Board Development, December 2, Wednesday 10am – 2pm*

*Strategic Planning for NGO Fundraising, Mondays, December 21 & 28, 6pm-9pm

These classes teach how to begin private major donor fundraising in the
Diaspora as well as in Israel and how to keep those donors interested and
committed to your cause. The strategy classes will focus on creativity in
fundraising and how you build a strategic plan that incorporates many
different ways to bring income to your NGO. At the end of this series, you
will have created the basis of a strategic fundraising plan for your
organization. Course is taught by Rachel Canar, the founder of NGO
Catalyst, and Shlomit Yarkoni, a leading private donor fundraiser in Israel
consistently raising millions of dollars and shekels.
