JOB DESCRIPTION – DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
The Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem is looking to employ a Director of Resource
Development who will be responsible for leading the development efforts
including executing a plan to expand and increase fundraising to support new
programs and a capital project.
The Director of Resource Development will work with the Director of the Museum
to spearhead development efforts of the BLMJ, a registered not for profit
cultural and educational institution located in Jerusalem. This is a new
position in the organization; the successful candidate will be expected to
build the development strategy and execute the plan.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the annual fundraising plan as well as creating a
plan to expand BLMJ program and capital projects
• Raising funds from individuals, foundations and corporations in Israel
and abroad to support these initiatives
• Maintaining and strengthening existing relationships with
philanthropic partners
• Identifying, developing and cultivating relationships with new major
donors
• Preparing proposals and reports to funders
• Coordinating and staffing events for BLMJ Patrons including visits to
BLMJ and tour destinations in Israel.
• Coordinating and initiating special events for funders in Israel
• Responsible for follow-up from meetings, gatherings and events
• Implementing a fundraising CRM system to support the fundraising
efforts including managing the implementation of data entry, gift processing
and gift acknowledgment
Qualifications:
· BA (required), MA (a plus)
· Minimum five years experience in development
· Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and
communication skills
· Fully bi-lingual in English and Hebrew (additional languages are a
plus)
· Excellent English writing skills
· Strong relationship management abilities, self-starter, multi-tasker
and detail oriented
