Yehudit and Colleagues,

StandWithUs is planning a fundraising dinner in late February at the Dan
Panorama Hotel in Jerusalem.

We have a featured speaker, 2 honoree couples, and a realistic expectation goal
of attracting a modest attendance of 75 – 100 people.

Fundraising dinners have long been a major development tool in North America.
We are "testing the waters" in Israel for the first time, recognizing that our
prime audience will be older Anglo donors.

We didn't want to take a major financial risk and therefore, we went with a
modest minimum of 50 people.  The couvert / person is 500NIS with the
"opportunity to make an additional donation"………

In addition to raising modest funds, there I feel that there are three
important additional goals:

  *   Visibility of the organization and SWU programs
  *   Cultivation of new donors
  *   Acknowlegement of devoted donors.

Please can I have your input/comment on the pros and cons of Dinners.  WE are
considering doing one for our organization, and want to assess whether it will
be a money maker or not.

Is there another advantage to a Dinner besides generating income?  (e.g.
Getting your community of donors together, etc)
