[freeroleplay] Mapping software

Anybody know of any good Free mapping software for roleplaying
games? I'm in the process of writing my own, but other options
are always welcomed.
I need to be able to map world regions, cities and buildings
and dungeons.
Oh, and it has to run on Linux. I've tried the various
generic drawing programs, but not of them are quite yet up
to the task.
