Dear Members of The FreeDict Project,
I would like to inform that Professor Antonio Lozano from the University of
Granada (Spain) has agreed to collaborate with the FreeDict Project.
He would be willing to offer his Spanish-English and English-Spanish Dictionary
to be used by the FreeDict Project. Currrently, it is the largest
Spanish-English Dictionary online with 120,000 entries: https://lexis.ugr.es/
The author began its work in the 80s, and he is very open to the idea of Free
Software (GPLV3). He said by email (below) that he would agree if I act as an
intermediary among the FreeDict project and his work. His database was in XML
format, but he changed it to a MySQL database.
It seems that nobody is in charge of maintaining the Spanish-English Dictionary
of FreeDict and only has around 5,000 entries.
Would it be possible if I become a maintainer for the Spanish-English
Dictionary ?
I am a Medical Doctor and I don't have technical skills in Computer Science.
Hence, would it be possible for a member of the FreeDict Project to help in the
conversion of the Dictionary to the TEI-XML format ?
