S2_6:
2.6.2 has been released, and will be in Ubuntu-20.04 LTS. There's no
date for 2.6.3 release set yet.
We've got some early indications that freeciv-2.6.2 does not compile
with latest (or upcoming) Qt. At least it didn't in OpenEmbedded with
development version of Qt. This has been fixed in S2_6 as Bug #868060.
If the issue pops up in other environments as they update to new Qt
versions, that will force us to make freeciv-2.6.3 release.
S3_0:
Next milestone for the branch is network protocol freeze (Task
#656467) on 07-Mar-20. It will be followed by the final alpha - alpha4
(Task #851229), and later branch will enter beta mode (Task #862054)
Network protocol freeze has been in effect well over a month now.
Alpha4 should come out coming weekend - 25-Apr-20. If no fatal issues
are immediately found with it, branch will enter beta mode.
Master:
Next milestone for the branch is S3_1 branching (Task #656468). Date
is not yet set, but is expected to be late this year.
Given current projections of gtk4-client and qt6-client work,
expecting branching already this year now seems a bit optimistic.
