If you connect the FBK of Primary block to secondary measurement you =
will
have the anti-windup guaranteed. That is because you are opening the
positive feedback in the primary algorithm for integral action as the
secondary measurement froze by the limit of the output. Although the =
best
connection for handshaking signals between primary and secondary blocks =
for
operation of the cascade loop is as you can see in documents B0193AX =
for PID
block

Subject: [foxboro] Windup in cascade configuration

Hi folks,
=20

I have some questions about the cascade configuration of two PID =
blocks. In
case of clamping in the secondary block, what happens with the output =
of the
primary block?

For example, if the secondary block clamps at 50% output, I think that =
the
primary block should not keep integrating because in this a windup can =
occur
at its output.

If I am right, the anti-windup works when the BCALCO of the secondary =
block
goes to the FBK and BCALCI of the primary block. Do I need anything =
else to
prevent windup?

Thanks in advance,
