Is the configuration for the NCD Explora X-Terminals the same as the
NCD 900. IF not could I trouble you for the
configuration using the NCD Explora X-Terminal.

Robert,
We're still using NCD Explora x-terminals for dedicated remote stations.
We've trialed a few embedded Linux workstations as replacements for the
NCD x-terminals and they work well but are expensive for what you get
and support is minimal.
We have GoGlobal for use on Windows PCs, primarily because it's lower
bandwidth than other alternatives from Solaris 2.5.1 workstations -- the
low bandwidth is important for engineers being able to use over dial-up
connections from when away from the plant. I anticipate trialing NX or
FreeNX on the Solaris 8 (and 10) workstations later this year, as a
low/no cost more feature rich alternative to the GoGlobal.
