Thanks for the info. Our problem is also intermittent, though I never tried it with just FV10.2.2 installed. I first tried it a couple times with QF1013909 installed with FV10.2.2 so that using the Online Trend Configurator did not freeze the workstation for about 15 seconds, but that may not have been enough times to encounter the problem, as it did not occur then. We also have the same problem trying to invoke an RDP session to our P91, where it can potentially take up ten or more tries before the connection finally works. It has happened with I/A v8.1 Server 2003 and both FV10.0.1 and FV10.2 and now with I/A v8.2 Server 2003 and FV10.2. I am assuming, maybe incorrectly, that this is a Microsoft problem. However, I have never had a problem invoking an RDP session to a P92, I/A v8.0-v8.3 and FV10.x. Same problems with adding points to overlay trends (via right clicking on value and using assign) and when we use the date picker. Foxboro field service also submitted a CAR and Foxboro has been working on the problem. Initially it was very reproducible but with the QF1013960 , the problem is now intermittent. We do experience the problem on both T3500s and older P390s. We also (maybe only a coincidence) have problems using remote desktop to the P91s. Occasionally, the RDP session will, when invoked, start to make the connection and just close. It will finally work again on about the third try. After the upgrade, using the Online Trend Configuration or the History Start/Stop Time to update the time range on our trend overlays occasionally causes that FoxView window to crash. When is crashes, a ''Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library'' prompt appears with this message: Runtime Error!, Program D:\opt\fox\wp\foxview\foxview.exe, This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.''. However, it does not happen each time the Online Trend Configuration or the History Start/Stop Time are used. You are eventually able to get the FV window back after about 5 attempts to restart it and acknowledging the error each time, without rebooting. I have submitted CAR 1014519 for this issue, but Development has, so far, been unable to reproduce the problem. However, each day for the past few weeks since the upgrade started, at least one of our FVFD-upgraded P92s has the problem. Has anyone else at this version experienced this problem? FVFD v10.2.2 does install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable program. After submitting the CAR, I have found that, of the P92s upgraded so far, only those running Windows XP SP3 (Dell T3500s) have not experienced this issue yet. And, yes, I have verified that there has been a significant usage of the OLTC on these P92s. The ones running Windows XP SP2 (Dell P360s, 370s, 380s, and 390s) are experiencing the problem. I do not know if that difference matters or not, though, as I have not yet come across any XP SP2 patches from Microsoft for this type of error. We started the upgrade because FVFD v10.2 has the same problem as CAR 1014152, resolved in QF1013960 for FVFD v10.2.2. That is one reason we have not began downgrading back to that version yet.
