You don't need to have the same length in the plain text file. By converting the file over to a fixed length block file you are forcing all the record lengths to the same size. I use a C program to convert any text files, but there may be an available Foxboro utility to do the job. What is a blocked text ? What is a fbt file ? What is a fixed lenght block file ? thank you=20 -----Message d'origine----- De : steve.shimp@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:steve.shimp@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Envoy=E9 : 20 October 2003 16:55 =C0 : foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Objet : Re: [foxboro] PICK a text Jean-Christophe: We've done this type of thing in the past, but only with Display = Manager, not Foxview. However, in Display Configurator you can setup a text = field as "Read File". (The file must be a fixed length block file .) Then configure the text field to execute program "=3D PICK1 @ ; dmcmd = getstr". Then we'd have a text field to display PICK1 to allow the operator to confirm they had chosen the desired item. You'll probably have to then link a button to a script to store the = string in the C:B.P. Hope this helps!
