Duc,

You need to do a package add of the appropriate video card package from the
Sun supplied CDs. These CD's should have been delivered with your D box if
you got one with a different card. If the second video card is a PGX card
(most likely with the problem you are stating) then use the PGX software;
if its a M64 then use the M64 software.

You may have to remove the old driver first - consult the docs that come
with the CD.

WP51D hard drive crashed. I built up a new hard drive for it, but used a
different physical box. The problem becomes apparent when I boot up in the
original WP51D: the second display head doesn't have a video signal. I had
used a box with a different 2nd video card than the one the hard drive was
intended for.

So now when I look at my graphic devices, I have only /dev/fb0. /dev/fb1 is
missing.

I tried to copy /dev/fb1 and its linked files in /devices from another box
with the same 2nd video card by tar'ing:

15WP01-dmdo> tar tvf tarfile
tar: blocksize = 5
lrwxrwxrwx 0/0 9 Jul 29 09:33 2002 /dev/fb1 symbolic link to
fbs/gfxp0
lrwxrwxrwx 0/0 45 Jul 29 09:33 2002 /dev/fbs/gfxp0 symbolic link to
../.
./devices/pci@1f,0/pci@1/TSI,gfxp@2:gfxp0
crw------- 0/1 0 Jul 29 09:33 2002
/devices/pci@1f,0/pci@1/TSI,gfxp@2:g
fxp0

but then the WP wouldn't boot up successfully, failing at some errors about
/usr/openwin/bin/xinit. If I remove /dev/fb1, it would boot up
successfully.
'boot -r' would matter in either cases.

Is there a way to restore/create the driver for the second video card
(short
of reloading the software using the proper box)? Thanks.

Duc
