I found out from Ken Buckley (Foxboro) that the
HP960 works as a replacment for the older models,
however it uses a different color cartridge.

Thanks everyone for the help!

Rob,
It is a business deskjet and does appear to be built better, though time
will tell. It has more paper capacity. The print heads are separate from
the
ink cartridges. Each color has a separate cartridge:
            Black HPC4840A or HPC4844A
            Cyan HPC4836A
        Magenta HPC4837A
         Yellow HPC4838A

If you do not want the postscript or the ethernet, then it may not be
worth the higher price.
