There are a number of approaches available, but it would help to know a
little about your I/A Series system, e.g., Version (see
/usr/fox/sp/lastinst/SYSLVL first line) and control types (any CP60s or
xCP270s?).

The options are:

*         V6/7 style solutions:

o        DI30s - Serial interface to DH or DH+

o Modbus FBM (FBM 224) - Serial modbus interface used with CP60 at
V6.5.1 or later (requires a Modbus card in the PLC)

o        AW-Integrator for A-B

o AW-Integrator with OPC DA Client I/O Gate

*         V8 style solutions

o Modbus Serial RTU Master FBM 230/231 - Serial Modbus I/F for use
with CP270s

o        Modbus TCP/IP FBM 232/233 - Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP I/F for use with
CP270s

o OPC DA Client FBM 232/233 - OPC to the AB PLC

Hope this helps.

Subject: [foxboro] Foxboro I/A interface with PLC5/30's

Hello list,

Does anyone have experience interfacing I/A with AB PLC5/30's?

I have to integrate the two for combustion control & burner management =

on a steam turbine generator unit.

The combustion controls would be replaced with the I/A system but the =

budget does not permit the replacement of the PLC based BMS.

Hence I'm seeking the best way to interface the two systems.

Regards,

Nigel Baptiste.
