There are several options to transfer data from AIM* to a RDBMS:

1. AIM*Historian Export To Oracle module (part # Q0301BL) can export to
Oracle on a scheduled basis.

2. Write an application to read from AIM* (using the AIM*API or ODBC) and
write into the RDBMS.

3. Historian Data Transform Application (HDTA)

The HDTA is a comprehensive application that extracts Information
out of an OPC HDA compliant Plant Historian (AIM*, OSI PI, etc..) and stores
the information into a RDBMS.

General Description

The Historian Data Transform Application summarizes high density data from
OPC-HDA
compliant data sources, and record the summary information into ODBC
compliant
database(s) - RDBMS.
The summary information to be produced is user definable as well as
the summarization periods. The application also supports transfers of raw
data.
Additionally, the application supports writes of values from the database to
control systems via OPC-DA servers.
Points can be added by non-programmers by simply modifying the points
table in the RDBMS.

The Historian Data Transform Application (HDTA) provides the following
general functions:

. Retrieve process data from OPC-HDA servers, summarize it
and record it in an ODBC compliant database.
. Respect OPC-HDA v1.0 std.
. Synchronize the scan time with database server.
. Write values from the database to control systems via OPC-DA
servers.

All the information required by the application is stored in the RDBMS and
can be modified without any programming:

. Points to scan from the points table.
. OPC/ODBC server source info.
. Target Database(s) information
. Point-filtering info.
. Data to write to control systems

Summary Calculations

The HDTA calculates summary values based on the raw historian data.
Transformation & Filtering mechanism features:

. Samples that are outside the range of the point pre defined filters
are not used in the calculations.
. All sample values are scaled and offset with y and z scale factors.

Let me know if you need more information on the HDTA.

Regards,
Sylvain.
