Yo,

I will attempt to explain. There are two types of message groups, 'legacy' and
'iaalarm'. (See B0193YL, Section 2 "Event Message Configuration). The legacy
group contains alarm messages that were available to the legacy, Informix
based, historian such as System Monitor messages, OAJ and others. The 'iaalarm'
messages are those that were not available to the legacy historian, but are
available in AIM. If you define a DSN and connect to the 'Message' group, you
will ONLY have legacy messages to select from. If you chose 'Event Messages'
you will be able to select from BOTH iaalarm AND legacy messages. The answer to
your second question is there is only one OAJ message table. You will see
'opraction' in 'Message' and 'Event Message', they are the same. Hope this
helps. Regards,

To all on List

What is the different between the "Event Messages" database and the
"Message" database in define a DSN to access ODBC connection.
When making a linked table from Access to AIM*Historian.

Another question I have which is on OAJ from the File menu I have historian
enable and also
have OAJ declared in the init.user. Do these go to different table's in the
AIM*Historian?
Ie message and event message

Thank, Yo
