Marc,
The initial Default for MAXPTS should already be 5000.
Save out your configfuration and check the .inp file
## AIM*HISTORIAN CONFIGURATION:
MAXPTS = 5000
maxobj is 5000 in aimapi.cfg by default, unless it has been configured
otherwise
You can delete or force delete the points you want from the existing
configuration
and add new ones until you reach your 500 point license limit.

Hi Marc,
Philip is right about MAXPTS.
Unfortunately, he is also right that the MAXPTS cannot be changed after the
creation of the instance. As he suggested, you can re-create the instance with
a greater MAXPTS, but your values will be lost.
If the data that is in your historian is important to you, please contact me.
We can migrate your old values to the new instance with the greater MAXPTS.

You can change this parameter - but it requires a restart of the AIM API...
