Hey folks, working on head count for our brew day. Right now, I have the
three guys from Cotton Port (though Will will be late), Jason McClary (one
of the guys I met at Brewfest), Michael Aronson, Thomas Larry and me.
Planning to brew: Chuck and Cotton Port (Karari had to back out - good
luck to your son's team!).

If you plan on coming, please respond so I can buy food.

Thanks,
Chuck

Take Hwy 165 North towards Bastrop. Upon entering Sterlington, just after
passing the Mobile Gas Station on the left, take a Left Turn at the traffic
light. This road is Keystone Rd. It will take you about 3.5 miles to get to
our location. Keystone Road will take you over a set of Railroad tracks and
then will tie into Horseshoe Lake Road. Keep driving until the road takes a
hard right turn. Immediately look for a Large Light Blue Warehouse on the
right side of the road surrounded by a chain-link fence. The lot is roughly
a 4 acre lot. This is where CottonPort is located. If any further
directions are needed feel free to Call or text me @ 318-372-7105 ask for
Troy Jr. I hope this helps.

Hey Gents,
Couple of items. We had TREMENDOUS interest expressed in home brewing and
our brew club at Brewfest. Thirty-six people signed the interest pad (only
two said, "I just drink beer and want to know more" and I couldn't make out
the handwriting on one of them). Most surprising is that *thirteen* said
that they are already brewing.

Forgive me for making a couple of executive decisions, but here they are:
to cover the cost of food and non-alcoholic drinks, I'm asking for $5 per
head. I'm thinking burgers will be the easiest way to feed a bunch of
folks. And BYOB. Bring your own, bring some interesting commercial brew,
whatever. *If you are going to be there, **respond so we can get a head
count*. Troy Jr or Will: could you send out directions for getting to
your facility?

The folks that expressed interest in brewing that day included me
(Chuck), Karari, and Cotton Port. If anybody else is interested, please let
me know. I'm especially hopeful that someone might do an extract brew to
provide a bit of variety. (Just a heads up, I've been using Richard's
electric system, and I may have to adjust my plans due to what Cotton Port
has available.)

Below you'll see the email I sent out to the people that signed the pads.

First, you are getting this email because you said you were interested in
the hobby of home brewing (or you are already doing it). If you are still
interested in becoming a member of our home brewing club, just reply to
this email and let me know - I'll put you on the regular email list.

Second, we are currently planning a brew day at 1pm on June 20th, hosted
by the guys at Cotton Port Brewing in Sterlington. Just a heads up -
brewing, especially for those who brew "all grain," can take time! If we
start at 1pm on the dot, some of us may finish around 7pm. We will be
cooking hamburgers and providing some non-alcoholic beverages (if you want
beer, BYOB... bring something interesting and do some trading!). Cost is
going to be $5 per person to cover food. If you plan to make it, please
respond to this email and say that you will be coming. I really need a head
count, so let me know.

Third, club dues are $35 annually. This will get you a t-shirt (to be
ordered soon), assistance with entering brewing competitions (shipping
costs), and will pay for some various learning opportunities. The brew club
usually meets on the third Tuesday of the month, but the brew day will take
the place of our normal meeting for June. Historically, we've met at the
Pickle Barrel in Monroe, but if the interest level we saw at Brewfest is
real, we may have to look into other locations for meetings.

Cheers!
