If any one interested in working in the area of accessibility,
SPACE/Insight can guide you. Few suggestions are
1) Improve orca - the free screen reader
2) Build firefox plugins/ grease monkey scripts to make firefox more
accessible.
3) Research/build low cost hardware for disabled people to use computers
efficiently.
4) Improve the malayalam text to speech engine (in festival) we are
developing.
5) Build an interface for the available free software ocr to make it
more accessible.. add features like scan a batch of images and read it
continuously.
