Hello fellow stargazers!
Well this month's star party has snuck up on me! I hope you'll forgive me,
seems like allergies and sinus troubles will never go away.
Anyway, we'll have telescopes at the Centennial Circle next to the Library
tomorrow night, Wed., February 21, from 7-9 PM.
In addition, for all you wanna-be scientists at 8:15 I'll be recording the
actual disappearance of a "double star" behind the moon. We'll try to
analyze the data right on the spot and see if we can confirm the dual
nature of the star.
Meanwhile, the other scopes will be showing you views of lunar craters,
stars being born, and maybe even the Andromeda Galaxy - our closest
neighboring galaxy.
If you have a telescope and can bring it to share views with the public,
please do so. We may be short a scope or two tomorrow night, so more is
better. Or if you are willing see me (orange vest) and we'll have you
staff one of our scopes and tell people what they are looking at.
