Fenrir should be returning the same time as your system. What happens if you
type date, does it give a different time than Fenrir?
Has your timezone been set either by link:
ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York /etc/localtime
or by using timedatectl::
timedatectl set-timezone America/New_York
Mine is set, and I get the following output for fenrir:
And the following from date, note that I have aliased date to approximately the
same output format:
Hopefully your problem is something simple to fix like the ideas above. Also,
while on the time subject, the latest Fenrir from master has improvements to
the autotime setting. If you are interested, it can be quite useful. I have
mine set to go off once an hour, but it can be configured to any interval.

My TZ variable is set to America/New_York but fenrir reads times as if it
is set to gmt. Can I change something in settings.conf to get system time
announcements that use the value in the TZ variable?
