Subject: [Foodplanning] Boston Mayoral Candidate Michelle Wu's Food Justice
Agenda for a Resilient Boston

Colleagues

I attach a copy of Cllr. Michelle Wu’s Food Justice Agenda for a Resilient
Boston. It outlines five areas where the City of Boston can make real progress
towards a food system that is equitable, resilient, sustainable, and just:

1 Investing in Boston’s food chain workers,
2 Supporting Boston’s restaurants and food economy,
3 Expanding Boston residents’ access to fresh, nutritious, affordable, and
local food,
4 Leveraging public procurement to drive broader food system change,
5 Strengthening food system coalitions to pursue a food justice agenda.

It is, in my opinion, the most comprehensive government-originated food justice
agenda in the US.
