Hi Michael
I had a look at my wife's iphone again. When you make a call to an automatic
phone system the keyboard changes completely from the numerical pad to
different options. During the call the options are to mute, keypad and
speaker on. The keypad is in the middle of the screen. When that is
activated a different numerical keypad appears. Then you can select the
number options to continue with your call to the bank.
Hopefully this will work for you with Voice Over which I did not try out.

I tried ringing the bank automatic service using an iphone 5 phone
and it worked fine by just pressing the required number. So I googled
to see if others were having that problem with the phone not working
on automatic voice systems. Sure enough I see a lot of complaints with
resistant.Seemingly pressing the number after the call is made does not work.
So before I delve into what people have written on this, Michael do
you have the iphone 5 or 6? And maybe what iOS version you have as
this could be significant?
