Just back from Tipperary where a group from Fighting Blindness stayed for a
weekend in the horse and jockey hotel.
I called Irish Rail on Friday to book both my trip on the cork train stopping
at Thurles on the Friday afternoon and the return trip on Sunday. It worked
very well both in terms of telling me the time of the trains, my seat and
supplying assistance at both ends of the journey.

to be an automated phone service from which I could get all the different
train times but that appears to be gone.
Also, I gather that Iarnrod Eireann now ask those seeking assistance to
contact them a day or two in advance of the day for which assistance is
required.
Obviously, I will contact them by phone to sort this out but thought I'd ask
for observations on this list beforehand. On the face of it, things seem to
have become more complicated since I laast used the service.
