I promised to look up the controls for speaking characters and words in
NVDA.
NVDA+1 Toggles on and off keyboard help
NVDA+2 Toggles on and off Speaking of typed characters
NVDA+3 Toggles on and off Speaking of Words
NVDA+4 Toggles on and off Speaking of all typed characters including
punctuation marks
NVDA+F2 passes the next key through to Windows.
