This is a fantastic initiative. Sligo County council put a new fire alarm
system in my home earlier this year. The controls to locate, test and silence
it is on the wall. so no more flapping with a tea towel to shut it up.
They put an alarm in each room and plus a carbon monoxide alarm was put in.
Its very handy if they go off and I haven't burnt my dinner I press locate
alarm button and all the alarms will fall silent accept for the one that
detected the smoke.

year battery operated smoke alarms for distribution and installation within
elderly and vulnerable residents dwellings.
