Hi, all,

Please see the invitation below from Clare Mc Laughlin. I would love to
attend but it clashes with the FB-Exchange meeting at 11:00 on Monday. 

I wonder if we could all  meet at the gallery and go through this exercise
and then make our way back toSouth Great george's street afterwards?

I may be interested in this visit to the Art Gallery if there are still
places.
I am blind and am aged 57. At present I am a part-time M Phil student in TCD
so am regularly in town near Merrion Square.

Hi All,
Clare Mc Laughlin is an art student studying a Visual Art Honours Degree
course based on Sherkin Island, West Cork.  This course is run by Dublin
Institute of Technology. Clare's art project is titled 'Art and
Accessibility', which will examine the perception of art in the gallery
space by people who are blind or vision impaired. Clare would like to invite
9 people with sight loss to participate in her research by taking part in an
organised tour of some of the works on display at the National Art Gallery
on Merrion Square in Dublin. There will be three gallery guides with a ratio
of 1:3.

She would like to video people's visit and record their thoughts of the
experience. If you would like to get involved please contact Clare at email:

The tour will take place next Monday 23 June 2014 at 11am at the National
Art Gallery, the Clare Street Entrance. The tour will take approximately one
hour. Participants can meet Clare or Brina Casey, who is the Outreach person
at the National Gallery facilitating the tour, at the reception desk of the
National Gallery.
