In attendance Derry Walsh, Pat Walsh, Martha Parkinson, Chris Egan on face time
and Cearbhall O Medhra on phone.
The group started by wishing Ken well with his new Guide Dog partnership. All
looking forward to meeting Marley.
Martha had a question about Audible starting to play when phone in bag or
pocket. Cearbhall helped with this issue.
Pat told the group about the issues he had with Vodaphone, after he lost his
phone. Pat did get his phone back. Pat also asked for help with the
notification setting on his phone, the group helped with this.
Derry had questions about Google Maps. Cearbhall gave an explaination. The
group went on to talk about other navigation aps such as Blind Square. Chris
told the group about a device called Bad Elf, which enabled him to navigate
when he sailed around Ireland.
Chris also told the group about a needs assessment he is due to have with the
NCBI. This led on to a discussion about the various pieces of assistive
technology members of the group use in their employment.
Next meeting of the Cork tech Club will be on Saturday 23rd June, 2018 - Cork
City Library @ 11am.
