In attendance Derry Walsh, Ken Walsh, Pat McCarthy and Cearbhall O Meadhra on
speaker phone.
Also in attendance was 3 transition years from a local school in the area.
The 3 girls explained to the members of the group they are entering a young
scientist competition in January and Needed some feedback from the group.
The girls are basing their project on an app for vision impaired people so they
can scan the bar code on a food package to see if the food contains nuts or any
allergies when out shopping.
The girls were very impressed with all of the ideas the group came up with and
are gone off to do some more research.
Derry and the other members invited them back again in the future if they
needed any more help with their project.
Ken showed the group his new9.7 inch I pad that he purchased last week.
Cearbhall told the group that Google chrome is after getting really accessible.
On the way into the meeting Pat took a leaf from a tree outside the library to
check out what kind of a tree this came from. In the meeting he took a picture
of this leaf with his phone. The app confirmed what it was.
The app is called Leaf snap UK.
Derry told the group that Amanda from fighting blindness is after putting out a
press release. To make people aware of the Cork group. one of the Cork members
has done an interview on a local radio station.
Best wishes
Ken
