A report has obtained details about the rumoured iPad Air 2 tablet, which is
expected to be announced by Apple on October 16.
According to The Michael Report, the next flagship Apple tablet will be around
0.5mm thinner than before and will adopt an A8 processor, making it faster.

Apple will apparently market the device as the thinnest tablet available, made
possible by making the screen fully laminated and thereby making the LCD and
glass a single piece for the first time on an iPad.

Overall, the look of the iPad Air 2 is said to remain the same as its
predecessor with no changes to the bezel. However, some of the buttons and the
speaker have been changed.

The mute/vibration button has apparently been completely removed, volume
controls are more recessed and the speakers now occupy a single row grill,
instead of two.

Elsewhere, the front facing camera is reportedly being upgraded to a FaceTime
HD camera, which supports 720p video, while the back camera is increasing from
5 megapixels to 8.

The report also backs up previous claims that the tablet will feature Touch ID
and Apple Pay, meaning NFC support should also be included.
