RTÉ Player is a free online video service from Irelands public service
broadcaster, RTÉ.
We started life in 2009 with desktop catch-up and live streaming of RTÉ
Television. Weve come a long way since then, and now have great online-only
content, box sets of lots of your favourite RTÉ shows, live streaming and
extended catch-up of almost all the RTÉ One, RTÉ2, RTÉjr and RTÉ News Now
schedule. Were now working to try to ensure you can watch our content on
whatever device you want whether thats a phone, tablet, computer or on
your TV. A wide selection of catch-up programming from RTÉ is also
available on set-top box services from Saorview, Sky and Virgin. Not all
programmes are available on all platforms due to rights restrictions.
If youre an Apple iOS user with an App Store account from outside Ireland,
you can use the RTÉ Player International app. This app offers free catch-up
of lots of the top RTÉ programmes, along with a subscription option which
allows you to unlock lots of box sets.
You can navigate RTÉ Player through English or as Gaeilge. You can enable
this functionality from your user preferences by signing in using your RTÉ
ID and selecting Settings > Interface Language > Gaeilge.
