Short, unedited notes from meeting: MACS: Don't take easy way out. It's gonna
hurt. Do it right. If org is gonna move forward it's gotta change. MDE is
watching, VoA is watching. 1. Decide if u r going to fully embrace being public
charter 2.look at fundraising, does their $ have undue impact on organization?
3. Understand diff between role if board and role of director ( ie
communication with parents, ) the boards job is to hold staff accountable for
fixing schools issues. Define what collaborative decision making means for
ssfcs. [i think the MACS guy thinks we are a joke, he's super blunt and
negative]. 4. Board needs to make unpopular decisions By laws need serious
revamping. 5. MACS does not require or recommend that schools be membership
organizations
