Dear Members,

I work as veterinarian for 18 years in a zoo near Toulouse in France, named
African Safari in Plaisance du Touch.
I discovered the listserve by reading the EAZA newsletter.
In addition to my duties as a veterinarian I take part in many other tasks
in the zoo including exhibiting design.
I am very interested in the horticultural design side of things, despite my
current limited knowledge.

The French zoos are also closed since 3 months with no real informations
concerning the reopening.

Dear Members,

First of all, I wish happy and especially better year to You.

My name is Csaba Harsányi, I am a zoological assistant here in SóstóZoo,
Nyíregyháza-Hungary. I am responsible for animals transports, livestock
administration and – not so long ago – the animal welfare management.
Despite I have biology and hidrobiology degrees, I have spent not much time
with botanical matters here, but as I used to work in the reptile section
(and also with aquarium sec), the „terra scaping” and building enclosures
were important parts of my work.

When I read about this maillist in the usual EAZA news, I thought that it
would be very helpful and useful to obtain knowledges which can help us
when we plan to build new enclosures, also for designing those. I am also
sure that I can get inspiring ideas for environmental enrichment, which is
an important part of the welfare.

We have been also closed for some time, no information about the possible
reopening, but we are trying to look positively at the future.

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well despite the difficult times we are facing.
Here in Randers, Denmark have been closed for over a month, and it does not
seem that we will open anytime soon. We are living in a kind of status quo.
Luckily we are all staying healthy and trying to cope best we can.
