Hey guys
Up for a 24-7 prayer prayer 24 hours?!!
what
pick an hours slot to pray for the city of leeds, in the middle of leeds
pray in silence, with art, with shouts, tears, songs, words, poems...
listen to God for his call to his church...write it, share it, keep it
secret
when
any time between 7pm friday 2nd december, and 7pm saturday 3rd
where
the upstairs room of Holy Trinity Church, Boar Lane (at the bottom of town,
just along from the station)
the outside door will be locked, when you arrive there'll be a number to
ring to tell the person praying that you are here. they will come and let
you in, you'll lock the door behind them & then get on with praying!
there is a kitchen & a toilet right by the prayer room
it's near the train station, the corn exchange (for buses) and you can lock
bikes with you inside the building (and there's loads of space to put your
christmas shopping bags while you pray if you fancy a break from the shops!)
what
pray & listen. it's that simple.
the prayer room will be decked out with a lot of creative things, bibles,
music, cushions....there will be space for you to write and share what you
feel God saying
there'll be a time for corporate worship & communion at 7pm on friday, and
6pm on saturday - join if you can, but pick any hour you like!
what now:
please reply to this email saying what time you would like to pray...in a
couple of weeks i'll send out the 'rota' with more guidelines on the
handover of keys etc.
if loads of people pick the same time I may ask nicely if you wouldn't mind
switching to a different slot
do pass this on to people who you think will be interested - please keep it
to people you know and trust - we're starting small and seeing what God
does!
you're v welcome to bring your kids and use whatever's there to pray
together
