You are not the only one... it's possible to solve this problem using
rules! Not every High Importance email should shoot an alert.

And I thought I was the only one with that setup.

Could we not set email as High Importance when posting? It's annoying
to get paged at 6am with emails from the list.

Luke, can you be more specific with client errors when they try to
change passwords? Have you checked client and server logs to find more
info? Can users from Win2000 workstations change successfully their
passwords? Have you completely migrated the NT4 domain? Any more info
about your infrastructure can be useful.

Regards,

Julio

Luke, is your PDC Emulator on-line? Win9x and NT4 clients without the
DSclient installed always try to find the DC with this FSMO role, if
they can't find it they won't be able to change passwords.

Take a look from AD Users&Comp, right click on your domain name,
Operation Masters, PDC, to discover which DC has this role.

Good luck!

I know this isnt a strictly e2k quiestion, but seeing as it directly
affects it, i thought id ask!!

Ive recently migrated from nt4 to w2k and AD, as well as e2k.

All works brilliantly except for one thing. The users cannot change
their w2k passwords - they are running nt4 ws, which i didnt think was a
problem. Basically their password expires and they are asked to change
it when they login, but it doesnt allow them to change the p/w.

I CAN change my password, and i thought it had something to do with me
being a admin, but ive run some tests and it doesnt appear to make a
difference!!

Anyone have any ideas as im going mad manually changing passwords for my
users!!

Cheers

L
