I don't worry about my Exchange server becoming infected, I worry about clients being infected via their mailbox. And many people prefer to implement a multi-layer AV strategy, which includes scanning mail as it reaches the mailbox store in addition to blocking malicious mail at the gateway, because if you rely on only one source of protection, you're putting a lot of trust in that single point of failure. So, for some of us, correctly configuring the file-level scanning is the only option. Of course it starts with missing the E002 and goes all the way to dismounting the database. What can I do to explain and workaround this? thank you rc
