Deleted Mailboxes are retained for 30 days by default, you can run the Mailbox Cleanup Agent by right clicking over the Mailboxes container in the Store, once you have run the cleanup agent a red X will appear next to the disconnected mailboxes, you can then right click over the disconnected mailbox and select Purge.
