Check out both Application and System Event viewer on reboots. I would
clear the event viewer, both application and system (saver them) and
reboot. On reboot check if there are any non-common events.

We have a "stand-alone" Exchange 2003 server (Enterprise) running on
Win2k3. It is not a busy server, has less than 20 users on it and the
total mailbox sizes are under 50 megs for any given user. The total
size is also small, under 200 megs. There is nothing else running on
server other than Ex2k3, i.e. no other apps, SQL etc. etc. This is a
dedicated stand-alone exchange server, and even the DNS and Active
Directory are all on the same server, i.e. no "front-end/back-end

It is a P4/2.4GHz with 1GB of RAM so it is not a dawg. It behaves just
fine normally, fast response to send/receive, etc. Nothing unusual
one thing: it takes a-g-e-s to reboot if and when we need to do it.
Last time it took nearly 20 minutes to shut down. Coming back up took
another 10 minutes.

Is this normal? Why does it take so long to reboot?

best regards
Mike Salim.
