Stop using PST files for mail storage and use an OST file instead. How to do that: 1. In Outlook, change your Exchange account to enable "Use cached Exchange mode". This creates an OST file on the local machine automatically. 2. Remove the PST file from the profile. 3. Import everything from the PST into the Exchange mailbox. 4. Wait for cached mode to finish synchronizing. Now, your mail, calendar, contacts, everything, are stored on both the server and your local machine, and can be accessed on the local machine when disconnected from the network.
