help : how to test smtp.

Hi all, I'm a newbie.

Up until yesterday, the smtp virtual server was fine.  Then it didn't send
out any mail.  Most of the mail ended up in Bad Mail folder.

Is there anyway, to test smtp to find out what setting went wrong?
