group distribution lists

Over the weekend we received some junk emails to our distribution
lists. For example, salesgroup@xxxxxxxxxxx There are X amount of users in
this group and they all received junk mail. I have filtered this address
out, however to prevent this in the future is there any way to stop
this group from receiving email from outside?
