Hi,

Exchange 2003. Works great, I sent an email from my AOL account to my
Gmail account through the Exchange server.

However, the bad news is: still needs CALs. Contacts do not need CALs as
long as the email address is outside the exchange server's domain name
space. That's not so here. oh well ...

The solution I am looking at now is to set up a second mailserver (a Linux
mailserver) and use separate domain names for the external users and
internal users and forward all Exchange users to the exchange server
subdomain and all forwarded users can be handled directly by the Linux
server. Yukky but the alternative is too expensive for the client.
