former disabled user can't log into mailbox

Hi All
I disabled users AD account after he left last week.
He returned this week. After I re-enabled his accuont
and changed his passord, he cannot get back into his
old mailbox.
How do I go about getting him back into his old
mailbox? I'm running Exchange 2000.
