Can you open Excel by itself, without opening that file?

Hi everybody

I am coming w excel problem even it is exchange forum. I have a very
impotrtant file and can not open it today. Get mess: "excel.exe has
generated an error......".

Have update w SR-1 as suggested by Microsoft. And still now same. It is
very important and urgent.

Can somebody help pls . Thks.
